Medical art is the illustration of the human body. It is an old art form seen in the works of artists such as Andreas Vesalius, Leonardo Da Vinci and Paul Rubens.
Today medical art is used for patient information, to teach medical students and inform the medical and legal professions. The medical artist has the skills to simplify a subject to make it more accessible.Claire Jones is a medical artist, trained through the Postgraduate Programme of the Medical Artists' Education Trust (MAET). Claire works digitally in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, also in traditional art methods especially pastel and watercolour. Working freelance, she welcomes discussions of your projects.
